I'll post a few I know for starters:

The Separatists terrorists from CS:GO are based in a real terrorist organization called "ETA", an acronym for "Euskadi Ta Askatasuna" (Basque Country and Freedom). This terrorist group killed people and planted bombs in cars with the goal of gaining full independence for Basque, a country located in spanish territory.

Pablo Escobar, the famous colombian drug dealer wanted to have a private zoo, so he bought 4 hippos and brought them to his farm called "Hacienda Nápoles".
When Pablo Escobar died, the colombian autorities decided to free a lot of the animals in Escobar's private zoo, including the four hippos.

But the autorities forgot that hippos can multiply their population really fast, so now hippos are considered as an invasive species in Colombia.

There are around 400 hippos in Colombia killing and extincting natural colombian species.
